The Minimum Qualifications for this scholarship are as follows:
1. Student must graduate from a High School in the Greater Houston-Area between January 1, 2010 and July 31, 2010.
2. A copy of the student’s high school transcript reflecting a minimum GPA of 2.5 based on 4.0 grading system or comparable performance on other systems.
3. A properly executed and timely scholarship application postmarked by March 31, 2010.
4. Include two (2) letters of recommendation as outlined on the application.
5. Copies of the student’s SAT or ACT test scores (must be a minimum of 900 for the SAT under the old system or a minimum score of 18 for the ACT).
6. Student must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university of higher education for the current or subsequent school term. Trade or vocational school enrollment does not qualify for this scholarship.
7. Application and all related documents (letters, scores, etc.) must be mailed in ONE ENVELOPE to ensure timely consideration.
This scholarship will be awarded in a nondiscriminatory manner without regard to an applicant's race, creed, color, religious beliefs, gender, age, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran's status, or organizational affiliation.
